Bill & Sue took ownership of the bakehouse in January 2015 and are using their 35 years in the food business to support the community
Our bakery ethos is to prepare good fayre from fresh meat & vegetables and local ingredients that reflect the seasons provisions.
Mark Watson heads the bakery oven activity, amazingly he started his career here whilst also working at his parents hotel in Arnside.
All the bakery goods and food is prepared from scratch by Mark, Bill and the team so customers can be assured of traditional standards of fresh and wholesome food.
Breakfast Baps, fresh vegetable soups, proper pies, fresh egg quiche, sandwiches, salads and oven baked jackets,cakes and sweet goodies will all warm the cockles of your heart.
The Pie kitchen boasts the `Proper Job` offer with mash, peas, good gravy and pickles. Favourites, are steak, meat & potato and cheese leek & onion but Mark is always testing seasonal and innovative ideas too.
The bakery has opened up its side window `hatch` where customers in a rush can pop their head in & be served take-away pies & sandwiches, there is also a grab & go fridge inside the bakery shop.
Our sticky toffee pudding, barrowdale cake, carrot cake, custards and caramel shortbread are already iconic and typical of our fresh quality.
Making good use of the bakehouse ovens daily specials are baked as a moving feast, an example is the Friday fish pie bake ( smoked haddock, salmon, cod & prawns).

The Old Bakehouse Arnside is open 9.00am - 5.00pm seven days a week, we are dog friendly and WI-FI is available.
